HEAD COACH

Jeff Bes enters his first season with the Fayetteville FireAntz after previously serving as Mississippi Surge's Head Coach before they went dark in '13-14.  Jeff served three seasons holding the reigns for the Surge and his first year there earned him SPHL Coach of the Year Honors.  Bes made the playoffs all three years coaching in Mississippi.

Bes also has extensive professional playing background - playing 19 years for 19 different teams including 8 with the Laredo Bucks of the CHL where he won the scoring title and MVP in '03-04, recording 117 points in just 64 games.

Bes comes to Fayetteville with his lovely wife Emily and daughter Ava.

Head Equipment Manager

Jorge Lopez enters his first season with the Fayetteville FireAntz as the Head Equipment Manager. 

Jorge is a native of Laredo, Texas where he was locker room helper for the Laredo Bucks. He started his professional career with the SPHL in 2010 as the Head Equipment Manager for the Huntsville Havoc. From there we went to become the Head Equipment Manager for the Bucks.

From 2012-2015 Jorge served as the Assistant Equipment Manager for the AHL team Texas Stars. In 2014 the Stars won the Calder Cup Trophy.  Last season he served as the Head Equipment Manager for the ECHL Utah Grizzlies. 

ATHLETIC TRAINER

Kyle currently serves as the head athletic trainer for the Fayetteville FireAntz Hockey and the Cape Fear Heroes Indoor Football teams. He was a member of the medical staff for the FireAntz, SPHL championship season (2006-07), the Fayetteville Guard, NIFL Championship season (2007) and the Cape Fear Heroes AIF Championship Season (2012).

Along with his passion of working with professional athletes, Kyle also enjoys providing athletic training services youth athletes in the Hope Mills/Fayetteville areas.  Kyle has been a member of the NATA since 2005 and enjoys using his knowledge to educate the community in sports medicine.

Kyle graduated from Methodist University with his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. He also minored in Physical Education and Strength and Conditioning. 

David Schutzer, MD, FACOG is a board-certified physician and surgeon. Originally from New Jersey, Dr. Schutzer finished his training at Duke University Medical Center before joining Highland OB/GYN in 1997. He has twice been chosen Best Physician in the Readers’ Choice Awards given by the Fayetteville Observer. He has served as Chief of the Department of OB/GYN and Chief of Staff at Cape Fear Valley Hospital System, as well as President of the Cumberland County Medical Society. Dr Schutzer stays active with his wife and four children.
